Trainings

Want to go into detail with the technical aspects of NoSQL? This year we are pleased to offer our attendees a technical training program in addition to the rich choice of presentations! The NoSQL Trainings will start after lunch and takes place simultaneously with the use case presentations.

Each Training session has a maximum limit of 20 participants and will be assigned on the basis of "first come, first served".

Please bring a laptop if you plan to attend one of the technical trainings!

Neo4j Traning

Speaker: Patrick Baumgartner

TRAINING ABSTRACT

Topics covered include:

Introduction to Neo4j
Overview of Cypher query language
Data modelling
Social use cases including recommendations
Other case studies in real world domains
Opportunity to consult on current projects, possible implementations and proof of concepts

Attendees won't need any previous experience with Neo4j, NOSQL databases or specific development languages, but will need their own laptop with Neo4j installed.

Riak Training

TRAINING ABSTRACT

Riak is the scalable, highly available, ops-friendly key value database that's in use at GitHub, Rovio and BestBuy.

In this session you'll learn how to work with Riak as a developer, with topics including:

Modelling your data in the schema-free, key-value world.
Taking the development environment for a spin on your laptop.
Add data to your Riak cluster using the REST interface.
Build a simple Ruby application that store and retrieves data with Riak.

All you need to attend is your laptop, the Ruby runtimes and a sense of fun!
